Even though it's a small island and a bit distant from Athens and the mainland, Lipsi can be reached quite easily nonetheless!
THERE IS NO AIR SERVICE TO LIPSI You may however fly to the islands of SAMOS, KOS, or LEROS and from there catch a ferry boat or hydrofoil to Lipsi island.
The best way to reach Lipsi island is by sea. There is only 1 weekly ferry boat departure from the port of Piraeus (Athens) to Lipsi island year-round. Travel time is approximately 19 hours.
Alternatively you may reach another larger island either by air or sea, and from there catch a hydrofoil or smaller local boat to Lipsi. The islands from which you can get to Lipsi island by boat are the islands of SAMOS, KOS, KALYMNOS (by hydrofoil) and PATMOS, LEROS (by hydrofoil or small local vessels). Daily trips to Lipsi are also organized from the islands of Leros and Patmos in the summer by small local vessels.
